EighthGrade Religion study Church. We learned about Jesus' description ofChurch in images of Vine and Branches, the Sheep, the Sheepgate, theGood Shepherd, and others. We learned about Paul's descriptions ofChurch in his images of the Mystical Body, the Temple, and the Bride ofChrist. After our study of these Scriptural images, each studentillustrated a modern day image that could describe Church: Some examples of modern day imagesare: The Church is like a band-aid; it always sticks with you. The Church is like a safety pin; it hold you together. The Church is like a calculator: it helps you solve problems. The Church is like Pi; it is never ending. The Church is like a flashlight: it lights the way. The Church is like a compass; it points you in the right direction. TheChurch is like a pair of glasses; it helps us see things clearly. The Church is like McDonald's; it has served 99 billion people. The Church is like Batman; it keeps you safe. |
