Sacred Heart Junior Civitan Students Clean Smoky Hill River Channel
On Saturday, October 9, the Sacred Heart Junior Civitan Club participated in the Salina Fall Fix-Up project. Members in grades 10 and 12 helped clean up Smoky Hill River Channel, collecting trash along a two-mile stretch of the river. Our efforts led to the collection of 36 bags of trash and a safer, cleaner environment for the Smoky Hill River ecosystem. This project precedes a greater Salina initiative to extend the Parks and Recreation trails throughout Salina and bring the river system together. Members who participated were Jason Marrs, Jett Samuelson, Andy Marshall, Hunter Newell, Markus White, and Nate Elmore.
