Salina Youth Helping Hands

Other Volunteer Opportunities
Friends of the Library have volunteer opportunities for youth ages 13-18. The youth services department needs enthusiastic teen volunteers to help out during their busy summers at the library. Application deadline is March 31st. Must be able to commit to at least 16 hours. See Mrs. Smutz for application. Being a member of friends of the library, you will incur no daily late fines on library items. You can also attend Friends Book Sale Preview Night. You can also sign up for The Friends of the Salina Public Library scholarships for teens, Joe McKenzie Youth Scholarship. Library volunteers who meet the requirements may be eligible for $500 - $1,500 scholarships annually. Applicants can apply who have volunteered at the library a minimum number of 30 hours during their high school years. Must have a high school GPA of 2.5, and plan to attend an accredited school or college. Recipients must attend their high school's honor night, Relatives of current Friends Board Members are ineligible. https://salinapubliclibrary.org
Salina Regional Health Center Summer 2024 Volunteer Information. Please email Marsha Haskett at mkhasket@srhc.com for more information. Must be students who are current high school or college students with a minimum of 2.5 GPA. A minimum of 35 hours of service during summer in order to apply. Must have a willingness to serve. complete and submit the application form available at www.srhc.com. Must attend an orientation on Tuesday, May 28 9:00 - noon or Monday June 3 from 1 - 4:00 p.m. You will have unit/department scheduling and training. Duties are generally not clinical in nature, but will give the student a good introduction into the world of health care.

Rolling Hills Zoo and their Education Department is looking for students for their Zoo Teen Ambassador program. Students ages 13-17 are able to interact with guests and are taught the skills needed to educate them about their wildlife and their importance in the eco-system in which they live, and why it's imperative to save them.
