SATC has many new programs starting this spring semester which include:

Fire Science:

This makes the program available to high school students from other schools as well as post-secondary students. We have removed the course prerequisites which enables students to start the program either in the fall or spring semester. This program is a 30 credit certificate program and we have an articulation agreement with Hutchinson Community College that allows our students to transfer these courses into their Fire Science program and complete their Associates degree.

Early Childhood Education:

Local business and industry has indicated that they have plans to expand their operations and bring new employees to this area, but their biggest hurdles are affordable housing and available childcare. Local daycare centers and pre-schools have indicated that they have capacity to serve more children, but they cannot hire enough trained staff to fill all their slots. SATC has received the necessary approvals to start an Early Childhood Education program. We have hired an instructor and we will offer our first courses next spring. The program is designed to allow students to start either term. We are very excited to make this training available to students in this area.
